Kaitlyn Johnson and Lauren Story led the Lady Alices with outstanding first place finishes in the 800 and long jump, respectively. Kaitlyn ran two season bests to win the 800 meters (2:34) and take third in the1600 meters (6:01), while Lauren backed up her long jump win with 2nd place in the 200 and 3rd place in the 100. Also placing in the long jump was Hattie Sherfield, taking fifth. Lillian Marley placed 5th in the 1600. Story and Johnson were part of the Lady Alice 1600 m. relay, along with Kaylyn Ozment and an especially strong anchor by Marley to win the relay. Ozment ran a SB in the 800 and the mile, competing as a team contributor and putting in the work for season and personal bests. Alivia Eaton placed 3rd in the discus with a 99-5. I was pleased with how the girls came out and competed so well. We have a lot of great attitudes on this team, and it's great to see their hard work paying off as season nears the end. It was a windy day making PRs even more outstanding. Overall it was a great evening and I was proud of all our athletes.
