Lincoln boys soccer picked up its second win on the season over Mt. Vernon today in a home matchup. The final score off the match was 7-1 in favor of the Alices. Scoring opened up in the 10th minute with a goal by senior, Claudson Thomas, off of a pass from Junior, Grant Richardville. Captain, David Ramirez, a junior, would add a goal in the 26th minute off a pass by junior, Gera Silva. Senior, Bryce Quinett, would, unassisted, score a goal in the 36th minute. In the second half the boys would add four more goals. Gera Silva would add three to his goal scorning tally on the season. Silva, a junior, would score in the 55th minute off of an assist from junior, Ian Lancaster. Silva would add his second in the 67th minute off of an assist by freshman, Cayden Trueblood. Silva’s third of the game would be scored in the 73rd minute off an assist by captain, Jude Clark, a junior. The scoring would close in the match for the Alices on a goal by senior, Claudson Thomas, off of an assist by freshman, Cayden Trueblood, for Thomas’s second goal of the match. The Alices won decisively but left a number of opportunities on the field. Lincoln finished with 35 shots in the match, 13 shots for Silva, 5 shots for Thomas, 4 shots for Quinett, 4 shots for Ramirez, 4 shots for John Martin Beam, 2 shots for Ian Lancaster, 4 shots for Cayden Trueblood, 1 shot each for Jude Clark, Calvin Doggett, and Levi Klingler. Landon Telligman registered 3 saves on the afternoon. Bryce Quinett claimed Man of the Match honors for dominant play from his role in the midfield. Quinett not only scored a goal in this match but was integral in buildup of goals scored, maintaining possession, strong pressing, and helped keep the game flowing even when the shots were waiting to find the back of the net. Boys soccer takes a road trip up to Bloomfield on Monday evening for a matchup with the Bloomfield Cardinals with a kickoff at 5:00 PM on August 24.
