Lincoln boys soccer started off their competition this week with an excellent win over a Terre Haute North team with the final score of two to one. The Alices came into that match playing shorthanded, having lost senior center back, Carson Heiden, to red card suspension. However, the boys came out strong and dominated play Against the Patriots. Scoring opened in the 22nd minute with a Gera Silva goal off of a Claudson Thomas assist. Thomas, himself, would find the back of the net in the 29th minute off of an Ian Lancaster assist. The Patriots would pull a goal back in the second half, but were not able to overcome the lead that Lincoln had established. Lincoln’s boys finished with 13 shots on goal on the evening. Goalkeeper, Landon Telligman, a junior, finished the night with 12 saves. Koen Lewis, a freshman, earned man of the match honors for stepping in and filling out our starting back line while the team played shorthanded. Koen stood his ground defensively and played well when the moment presented itself. In the JV match against the Patriots, the Alices fell 5 to 1. The lone goal being scored by freshman, Amauri Sauveur, in the 44th minute, off of an assist by Levi Klingler. In the JV match, the Alices compiled four shots on goal. Freshman keepers, Jason Richardville and Parker James, performed well in the match. Richardville add four saves on the night, Wall James had five saves in the match.
