Girls Soccer Gets Another "Blue Collar" Win

By Caleb Merrifield | Sep 11, 2025 10:00 PM

The Lady Alices were able to secure another Win thanks to the work and effort from their defense and timely goals from the offense, as they improve to 4-4 on the season with a 2-1 victory over Vincennes Rivet. Lucy Wisley would open up the scoring. The Lady Patriots would equalize in the 1st half, sending us into the break at 1-1. JJ Riggs would rifle a shot into the back of the net to win the game in the 24th minute of the 2nd half. With Azaria Easley out of tonight's contest due to an injury, JJ Riggs took the mantle up front. There were many great things seen from numerous players, such as Brylee Quinett, who keeps the ball moving around. Freshman Ella Wanke has stepped up big in recent times, complementing Senior Kenzie Doerner on the back line as the center back duo. Cruz Becher played and ran today like she was mad at the ground, which is great to see as she's been dealing with some nagging knee injuries. This was a complete team win, even though the Lady Alices didn't finish as many of the chances that we wish we had, the team is playing a very exciting brand of attacking soccer that keeps me on the edge. It's a matter of time before the floodgates open. Stats: Goal from Lucy Wisley, assisted by JJ Riggs in the 24th minute of the 1st half Goal from JJ Riggs, assisted by Alivia Deckard in the 24th minute of the 2nd half Shots/Shots on Goal - 27/22 11 Saves out of Javelin James 2 Preventions out of Javelin James JJ Riggs was awarded Player of the Game.
